Roxsana Diaz: The Curvy Art Teacher Who Became an Internet Sensation

Roxsana Diaz isn't your typical social-media beauty. She's an artist, former elementary-school art teacher and curvy internet sensation who turned unexpected viral fame into a massive online following.

Known to millions online as @Toyboxdollz and “The Art Teacher,” Roxsana was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Philadelphia, making the glamorous creator Puerto Rican-American. Now in her early-to-mid 40s, she has become instantly recognizable for her dramatic hourglass figure, colorful personality and love of art.

This video puts another spotlight on the woman behind those famous curves.

Roxsana originally attracted widespread attention after photographs showing her teaching in figure-hugging outfits went viral. While some internet commenters criticized her appearance, Roxsana pushed back against the idea that simply having a curvaceous body made her clothing inappropriate. The controversy ultimately introduced her to a much larger audience.

But there's considerably more to Roxsana than her figure.

She is a contemporary artist and visual storyteller, creating colorful paintings, sketches and original characters. Art has been part of her life since childhood and eventually became both her profession and a way of expressing personal experiences.

That combination makes Roxsana unusual in the influencer world: she's simultaneously the glamorous woman who can set social media buzzing with one photograph and a serious artist whose creativity extends far beyond the camera.

Curves made The Art Teacher go viral.

But Roxsana Diaz has made sure people remember the artist behind them.
